Press Release Body: The Maynard has received an accolade from a recent visitor to its refurbished restaurant, in the form of a letter complimenting the management on all aspects of the experience including the service and food. Commenting on the quality of the meal on behalf of a large group booking, the customer wrote "that was Michelin Star quality". The letter went on to say that the group felt they had received "excellent value for money".
Liz Downing, marketing manager for The Maynard, said that complimentary letters from customers were quite common: "Now that the restaurant has been reopen for a year, the food and the service are pretty consistent and we are getting a lot of very positive feedback. It's really pleasing that customers think our food is Michelin Star quality, even if that's not something we are really setting out to achieve."
In advance of the completion of its Boutique Hotel refurbishment in a few weeks, The Maynard is offering local residents an exclusive money saving deal and a chance to experience its new rooms first hand. South Yorkshire and Derbyshire residents who book a table for two or more in The Maynard restaurant (evening only) will be treated to a "Buy one night get one free" offer in one of the ten en-suite luxury bedrooms, when the hotel re-opens its doors to guests in March. Once you have expressed an interest in the offer, The Maynard will keep a reserve list and call you back to confirm your reservation, once an actual re-opening date is known for the hotel. You may eat in the restaurant any time, as The Maynard is still open for food and drink.
The Maynard's director Paul Downing said: "We believe The Maynard will now be a leading attraction for Peak District tourism. We want to celebrate this success with our local customers," Paul added.
